The National Junior Classical League is an organization for middle and high school students in classical courses. NJCL proudly holds the honor of being one of the largest academic youth organizations in the world. There are over 50,000 members in approximately 1,200 chapters, located in almost every state and in several foreign countries. Established in 1936, the organization seeks to promote the study of Latin and Greek, to benefit students and teachers alike, and to impart an understanding of the connection of our own culture to that of classical antiquity.
Magistra Lund has been connected with the Junior Classical League (JCL) since she herself was a middle school Latin student. The JCL will serve the same purpose as the Classics Club in the past, but will allow students to have more opportunities outside of school to get involved in the Latin learning community. The JCL will offer students opportunities for leadership, creativity, and foster connections among lovers of the ancient world.
